Employee Recognition Program
The goal and purpose of the program is to recognize employees both for their service to the
organization as well as individual and group contributions to the City’s mission and vision.
The Employee Recognition Committee will review nominations. It is recommended that
nominations be submitted in the same quarter that the event occurs.

form, please give specific examples of actions taken by the employee that demonstrated
excellence in their job. If enough details are not provided, Committee Members may reach out
to you to request additional information in order to make a decision.

Staff Appreciation and Recognition Award (S.T.A.R.)
The purpose of the Staff Appreciation and Recognition Award (S.T.A.R.) is to recognize
employees for their day to day efforts and their accomplishments towards achieving
organizational or departmental goals. Employees can be nominated by peers, citizens,
supervisors, division and department heads. Individuals who receive the award will be given a
certificate.
Outstanding Service Award
The purpose of the Outstanding Service Award is to recognize employees for work which supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the City of Oshkosh, as well as to recognize special contributions for a specific project or task. Employees can be nominated by peers, citizens, supervisors, division and department heads. Individuals who receive the award will be given a certificate and will be considered for the Employee of the Quarter Award.
Employee of the Quarter
This award recognizes the outstanding qualities and contributions of employees toward departmental and the City of Oshkosh mission, vision, values and strategic goals. Individuals nominated for the Outstanding Service Award will be reviewed by the Employee Recognition Committee, who will select one employee to receive the award each quarter.
Employee of the Year
This award will be presented to the City of Oshkosh employee in recognition of and appreciation
for exceptional job performance and distinguished contributions to the City. The winner selected
will be displaying outstanding performance, inspired leadership and extraordinary service to the
City. Award winner(s) of the Employee of the Quarter are considered for the Employee of the
Year Award. The City Manager and Assistant City Manager/Director of Administrative Services
will determine which of the candidates receives the Employee of the Year Award.
