Garbage and Recycling Collection for Christmas & New Year’s Holidays

Due to the City’s observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 and on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Collections for the remainder of the week will be one day later. Garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024 will move to Saturday, December 28, 2024. Garbage and recycling scheduled for Friday, January 3, 2025 will move to Saturday, January 4, 2025. Regular services will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Additionally, the City’s yard waste drop-off center located on West 3rd Avenue (between Idaho Street and Ohio Street) will be closed for the holidays on Tuesday, December 24, 2024; Wednesday, December 25, 2024; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The drop-off center will re-open on Thursday, December 26, 2024 and Thursday, January 2, 2025. The winter hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The drop-off center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the winter schedule.

Residential curbside Christmas tree collection will take place on the regularly-scheduled garbage collection day the weeks of January 6th through January 10th and January 20th through January 24th.

Fall Loose Collection Begins the Week of October 21, 2024

Fall loose leaf collection begins the week of October 21st. Loose leaf collection is scheduled on the day after your regular garbage collection day, from October 21st through November 22nd. For residents whose garbage is collected on Friday, loose leaf collection is on Monday. The schedule is as follows:

Loose leaf collection is for leaves only; no grass, brush, or garden plants. Leaves should be piled loosely on the terrace for collection, not in the street, no later than 7 am on the day after your schedule garbage collection day. For properties without terraces, rake the leaves as far out to the street without obstructing the sidewalk or going into the curb line or the street.

Loose leaf collection may end at any time due to weather or equipment issues. Loose leaf collection will end the week of November 18th through November 22nd on the scheduled loose leaf collection date.

Yard Waste Collection week is scheduled during the week of November 4th through November 8th. Place small branches, garden debris, or leaves into biodegradable paper bags no later than 7 am on garbage day.
