Matt is currently serving his fifth term on the Oshkosh Common Council, having been elected as a Council Member in 2018, elected Mayor in 2023 and re-elected in 2025. He currently serves as chair of the city’s Redevelopment Authority and is a member of the Oshkosh Housing Authority, and has previously served on the Museum, Arts and Culture Board, Parks Advisory Board, Long-Range Finance Committee, Rental Housing Advisory Board, Landmarks Commission and Public Arts and Beautification.

Matt is a lifelong resident of Oshkosh, where with his wife Lindsey they are raising three children. He graduated from Oshkosh West High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Matt believes this community is a great place to raise a family and sees a bright future for Oshkosh. Oshkosh truly is a great place to live, work and play.
