About 7300 confirmed lead and up to 2100 additional because material is unknown.
How many water service lines are there in total in the City?
About 21,500.

If the City finds a lead water service line coming into my home, are they going to force me to replace it?
No.
If the City finds a leaking lead water service line coming into my home, are they going to force me to replace it?
Yes. You will have 180 days to complete the work.
I have a lead water service line. How can I get my water tested for lead?
Call the 24-hour response line at (920) 236-5251. Residents will be charged for the srevice.
How do I begin the process of changing out my lead water service line?
Apply for financial assistance, if desired, hire a plumber or contractor and call the City Inspections Division regarding the permit process.
How much will it cost to replace a lead water service line?
Roughly between $4,000 - $7,000, with the possibility of some level of financial assistance.
Do we need to come up with the whole cost amount before getting any reimbursements for replacing our lead water service line?

Yes, under the current financial assistance program.
Why does our City have so many lead pipes to replace?
When the pipes were installed, the potential negative health impact of lead was not known.
What if I’m fine with the lead water service line I’ve been living with for so many years and I don’t want to replace my lead water service line?
If it remains an undisturbed lead water service line, it does not require replacement at this time. All lead water service lines will require replacement in the future. If you have a lead water service line, the City would encourage you to become a lead sample household. Please contact the Water Filtration Plant at (920) 236-5165.
Who is responsible for fixing my yard and sidewalk, if disturbed, after a lead water service line has been dug up for replacement?
Your contractor, if it was part of your contract/agreement with them; otherwise the property owner is responsible.
