Bartender License
Who Needs an Operator (Bartender) License?
Anyone selling or serving alcohol for consumption on-site (bar/restaurant) or off-site (grocery store/convenience store) must have a valid Operator's License. There are two options for an Operator's License:
- City of Oshkosh Bartender (Operator) License – valid only within the City of Oshkosh
- State of Wisconsin Bartender (Operator) License – valid statewide
City vs. State License
Not sure which license is right for you? Review the key details for each license option before choosing which to apply. Please note, but options require compliance with server's course and background check requirements.
