City of Oshkosh Selects Director of Cultural and Enrichment Services

The City of Oshkosh has selected Anna Cannizzo as the community’s new Director of Cultural and Enrichment Services. In this role, Cannizzo will collaborate with the Oshkosh Public Library and oversee the Oshkosh Public Museum, Parks Services & Events, Senior Services, and Fund Development Services under the Cultural & Enrichment Services umbrella, which was created as part of the City’s structural changes.

“I am excited to announce the appointment of Anna Cannizzo to the role of Director of Cultural and Enrichment Services,” commented City Manager Rebecca Grill. “Her remarkable leadership as Director for the Oshkosh Public Museum has laid a strong foundation for this new role, in which Anna will be central to enriching the cultural fabric of our community. This appointment reflects our commitment to enhancing access to cultural and enrichment opportunities for all residents. We are excited to see how Anna's vision and passion will drive community engagement and foster a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere across Oshkosh.”

Cannizzo has served in various roles at the Oshkosh Public Museum for the last 11 years, initially serving as the Curator of Collections for 6 years, Assistant Director for 4 years with two appointments as Interim Director, and Museum Director since June, 2024. Prior to coming to Oshkosh, she served as Curator of Collections and Interim Director at the Denison Museum at Denison University in Granville, Ohio for 7 years. Additionally, she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology along with a Master’s Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
