Council Member Karl Buelow is serving his first term on the Oshkosh Common Council. He previously served on the Transit Advisor Board and Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission. Karl has dedicated his career to hospitality, helping to create spaces where all feel welcomed. Over the past nine years, Karl has enjoyed being a member of the staff teams at The Grand Oshkosh, EAA, and Oshkosh Area Community Pantry. He currently serves as Operation Director at Day by Day Shelter. Karl holds a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership from UW Oshkosh.
Karl ran for city council to bring an environment of welcome and hospitality to the halls of city government and he looks forward to meeting with Oshkosh residents at City Hall and in the community. Karl lives near downtown Oshkosh and enjoys being within walking distance of the University, the farmer’s market, the parks and river and lakefront trails that Oshkosh features. You can often find Karl playing basketball, pickleball or biking in our local parks with his wife Jennifer and his children. You might also find Karl riding a bus around town or visiting the dog park with his two rescue dogs. If you see him out and about, please say hi and share your joys and concerns about the city. Karl loves to make new friends and he truly wants to hear what you have to say about Oshkosh.
