Building Management
Identification Signs
Definition:
A type of Identification & Safety Sign
indicating the name and/or address of the
property owner, tenant and/or manager
of the property.
Regulations:
Sign shall be located on the building.
Sign lighting not permitted
One (1) allowed per building
Maximum area per side: 1.5 sq. ft.
Maximum height: Top of the entry door
Location: within 5’ of main entry door
Required Material: Sign-grade wood or
metal at least 0.04” thick
See Section 30-271(D)(2)(b) for complete
regulations.
The sign types listed in this brochure may
be used for advertising (e.g. for rent, for
sale) and identification of residential
rental units. Please note that these sign
types are allowed without prior permit
approval.
Yard signs must be located on site and
may not be placed in the terrace (areas
between the street and sidewalk) or on
any natural feature (tree, rock, etc.). Yard
signs may be displayed a maximum of 180
days per calendar year.

Definition:
A type of Yard Sign that consists of a sign
face erected upon one or more metal
wires or wood, metal, or plastic stakes of
no more than 3 inches in width.
Stake Signs
Definition:
A type of Yard Sign mounted on a post or
posts, either with a bracket arm extending
outward to support a hanging sign, with
the sign attached directly to the side of the
post, or with the sign mounted between
two posts.
Definition:
A type of Yard Sign that consists of a frame
into which a sign face can be inserted
and erected upon two wood, metal, or
plastic stakes or ground spikes.
