By providing this opportunity it not only encourages and promotes community involvement but also allows us to beautify and improve our parks. All Adopt-A-Site projects should aim towards benefitting the majority of park users. PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Upon approval of applications by the Parks Department, volunteer(s) may cleanup and/or work on projects as frequently as they choose but we ask for a minimum of a once-a-month dedication in maintaining the designated park or area. Some parks/areas may require greater frequency of care as determined by the Parks Department. Volunteers/participating groups will need to renew their application annually. The annual adoption commitment period begins May 1 and concludes October 31. The Parks Department will continue to take Adopt-A-Site Program applications throughout the year. Volunteers may adopt an entire park, an area within a park or a portion of a trail. It is each volunteer group’s responsibility to organize their monthly maintenance and/or projects. We ask that schedules are coordinated/communicated with Parks Department staff. When the work has been completed, a report of work shall be completed and returned to our office. Reports should include the date, location, number of volunteers who participated and a brief description of work completed. A template for this report may be requested from the Parks Department. PROGRAM RULES AND REGULATIONS: • All activities performed in the park should benefit the majority of park users and should be completed during daylight hours to ensure the safety of volunteers.
