HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-86.docJANUARY 23, 2001 FIRST READING FEBRUARY 13, 2001 01-51 SECOND READING 01-86 ORDINANCE (CARRIED 6-1 AS AMENDED LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AMEND CITIZENS ADVISORYBOARDSAND COMMISSIONS ORDINANCE INITIATED BY: MAYOR JON DELL' ANTONIA A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH RELETTERING SECTIONS 2- 36(B) - (G) AND CREATING SECTIONS 2-36 (B) AND (C) OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO RESIDENCY AND LIMITATION OF SERVICE ON MULTIPLE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 2-36 (B) - (G) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to Citizens Advisory Boards and Commissions is hereby renumbered Section 2-36 (D) - SECTION 2. That Section 2-36 (B) and (C) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to Residency and Limitation of Service on Multiple Boards and Commissions is hereby created to read as follows: (B) Except for boards and commissions specifying a particular membership by the person's position or title and members of the Library Board, all persons appointed to or serving as a member of a board or commission of the City shall be residents of the City of Oshkosh. A vacancy is created whenever a member who is required under this section to be a resident of the City of Oshkosh ceases to be a resident of the City of Oshkosh. (c) Individuals shall serve on no more than two (2) boards or commissions for the City of Oshkosh. This limitation does not apply to Council Members appointed to any board or commission, to appointees for Citizens Advisory Committees, as authorize by Section 2-41 of this Code, or to appointees of any ad-hoc committee designated by the Mayor. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication. **Bold & Italics indicates Amendment
