Rohloff,City Manager DATE: June 11,2019 RE: Cooperative Purchase of Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Engineering Division BACKGROUND The 2019 CIP Major Equipment allocated $40,000 to replace an Engineering Division pickup truck. The new unit replaces a 1999 Chevrolet 3/4 ton 4WD pickup truck with 100,640 miles that has exceeded its useful service life. This memo is to report this vehicle purchase pursuant to the cooperative purchase exception of our purchasing ordinance. The new vehicle is a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD Regular Cab. ANALYSIS Purchasing has verified that Ewald Automotive Group holds the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration contract(#505ENT-M19-2019VEHICS-01)for this vehicle. FISCAL IMPACT The fiscal impact of this vehicle from Ewald's state contract is $29,232.00. The Street Division will be spending approximately$2,839.45 for additional equipment to complete this unit including the bed liner, undercoating, hide-away lights, seat covers, floor mats and city radio/antenna. The total fiscal impact for this vehicle is$32,071.45. This purchase will be charged to A/N#: 03230420 7210 66901. RECOMMENDATION Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, cooperative purchases pursuant to a contract with any other local, state or federal governmental unit or agency may be made without following a competitive bidding or quotation process. In accordance with Section 12- 15 of the Municipal Code, I am hereby submitting a report of this purchase to the Common Council.
