Dear Jason and Julia.
On 6/17/2016 12:00:00 AM, the Division of Historic Preservation received a Historic Preservation
Certification Application for your property at 1025 Merritt Avenue in Oshkosh. Enclosed is a copy of the
signed Part l application indicating your house has been determined to be a historic property for purposes
of this program.
We have reviewed the Part 2 application and determined the proposed project will meet the"Secretary of
the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation" if the conditions on the following page are met. Enclosed is a
copy of the signed Part 2 application.
We have also reviewed and approved your request for a five-year project phasing plan. Enclosed is a
signed copy for your records.

When you have completed all of the work, you must close out the project in order to claim/retain tax
credits.
I. Take photographs of the overall appearance of the house (from all four sides), as well as detailed
"after" shots of the specific work that you have carried out. These photos should be printed in
color and of a high resolution.
2. Send the photos to us along with the Request for Certification of Completed Work(attached).
3. A signed Certification of Completed Work will be required by the Department of Revenue to claim
the tax credits.

In order for your project to be approved for income tax credits the following conditions
must be met. A second copy of these conditions are being provided for your contractor's
use. It is the homeowner's responsibility that all conditions are met. Failure to meet these
conditions results in project denial.
1. Exterior wall repairs after the garage is removed must match the historic material in
size, thickness, exposure, and finish. The use of alternative materials on the historic
home such as cement board is not permitted.
2. Installation of wooden storms or combination storm windows is approved only if the
new windows meet the following specifications. 1) They must match the overall
design of the historic windows. Where divisions are required in the storm window,
they should line up with major divisions in the historic primary windows, such as the
meeting rail of the upper and lower sashes of a double-hung window. 2) They must
conform exactly to the sizes and shapes of the original window openings without
blocking them down. 3) The dimensions of the wood framing sections should be no
wider than the historic windows so that the glass sizes match the historic primary
windows. If the storm and screen windows do not meet these specifications, you must
submit for approval drawings or manufacturers literature to indicate their
appearances.
3. The location and design of the new garage is acceptable however no information was
provided on the finishes. All the elements on the new garage, the siding, doors, trim,
ETC must be painted or have a solid body 100% opaque stain. The use of transparent
or semitransparent stains on any of the exterior materials is prohibited and will result
in denial of the entire project.
4. All replaced porch elements should match the existing in material and design and all
replaced elements must be painted to match. if stained they must be stained with a
solid body 100% opaque stain, the use of transparent or semitransparent stains is not
permitted.
