NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed pursuant to Section 12-11 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code to purchase manhole and inlet castings from: NEENAH FOUNDRY COMPANY PO Box 729 Neenah, WI 54956 Total: $29,108.81 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same. Nos. 0561-2050-1510-00000 Inventory - Castings 0551-1920-1510-00000 Inventory - Castings 0541-1867-6517-08673 Supplies/Repair Parts r,A City 0 fA: Oshkosh MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Co n Council FROM: James Rabe,Director of Public Works DATE: May 23, 2019 RE: Approve Purchase of Manhole/Inlet Castings for the Streets Division of the Department of Public Works ($29,108.81) BACKGROUND The Department of Public Works has adopted standards for manhole and inlet castings to be used within City-maintained right-of-way and easements. The standardization of the castings allows for a limited variety of inlet and manhole castings to be stocked and ensures proper- sized items are available when repairs are necessary. Manhole castings are special ordered with the utility type cast into the lid to help identify the facilities. ANALYSIS The Streets Division of the Department of Public Works orders castings annually to maintain an inventory for repairs to Storm, Wastewater, and Water Utility facilities. These castings will be provided by Neenah Foundry Company of Neenah,Wisconsin, FISCAL IMPACT The cost of these castings is $29,108.81. Funding is available in the Operating Budgets of the Storm Water,Wastewater, and Water Utilities. RECOMMENDATIONS Section 12-11 of the Municipal Code of the City of Oshkosh provides that material purchases, when standardization or compatibility is the overriding consideration, may be approved by the City Manager without the use of formal, sealed quotes.
