RE: Amend 2019 Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
BACKGROUND
During the evaluation of the 2019 Operations Budget and CIP Budget, the Public Works
Wastewater Utility had proposed to replace their 2009 International fetter Truck. This request
was funded for $380,000 in the 2019 CIP.
ANALYSIS
After acquisition of the new jetter truck, Wastewater Utility will then sell the 2009 unit to the
Water Utility resulting in gain on sale, as the jetter truck is fully depreciated. The Water Utility
will then retrofit the jetter truck with a hydro excavator to utilize this for additional purpose
and function.
FISCAL IMPACT
In order to purchase a new jetter truck a budget amendment is necessary for $4,200, as the
lowest bid for this new piece of equipment was $384,169.25. This will be funded from the sale
of the asset to the Water Utility.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council pass this resolution
