Re: 1000 1100 Pioneer Dr City of Oshkosh
Dear Mr. Keierleber,
The City has previously been in contact with you regarding the condition of your Oshkosh property locally .
known as the Pioneer Inn property. The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the condition of this
property has significantly deteriorated. In response to this condition, the City has recently performed an
inspection of the property via its perimeter. Yoar property was viewed from both the public waterway as
well as public right-of-way. The City has not entered your private property.
This recent perimeter inspection resulted in the identification of several violations of City of Oshkosh
Municipal code. The code violations identified in this recent perimeter inspection along with those prior
violations of which the City has not received compliance notification include the following:
• Portions of the former hotel(basement walls)have not been removed(MIJN. 7-51)
• The exterior of the building has many areas of peeling paint(MLJN 17-36A)
• The roof appears to have shingles missing(MLJN 17-36A)
• Windows have been boarded up without proper weatherproofmg(17-36A)
• Excess grass and weed growth(MCJN 17-44)
• Storage of boats and trailers in the parking lot(MLJN 30-26)
We understand from our Police Department that this vacant property is attractive to persons interested in
the destruction of property was well as to participate in unsafe activities on this property.
Based upon this current situation,I am requesting your permission to allow Ciry of Oshkosh staff to enter
the property and perform an onsite inspection of the property, both the exterior and interior of the existing
building as well as the debris surrounding the partially demolished structures.
I request the courtesy of a response within 14 days from the date of this letter. If we do not hear from you,
or if you decline this request, the Inspection Division will turn this file over to the appropriate City
Department to take necessary action to remedy this situation.
Please contact me with any questions at(920)236—5119.
Sincerely,
