Westhaven Drive Petition-Update Common Council received a petition from residents on October 91h, 2018 regarding the bike lanes and parking removal on Westhaven Drive. The bikes lanes were implemented in summer of 2017. Common Council requested that Traffic and Parking Advisory Board, Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, and the Sustainability Advisory Board make recommendations on this topic. Traffic and Parking Advisory Board recommended restoring parking to Westhaven between Noel Ct. and Springmill Drive east side and narrowing the bike lanes to 4 feet. The road is 40 feet wide so this would allow 2-4 foot bike lanes, 8 feet for parking on the east side and 2 12 foot travel lanes. If the 5 foot bike lanes remained, parking could be added on the east side and have 11 foot drive lanes. Ms. Naudziunas explained that the Sustainability Advisory Board met in January and decided to not take action on the item until there were more details provided to the committee. The Sustainability Advisory Board took action on this item on February 41h2019. The item went to Common Council as a City Manager update.
