RE: Cooperative Purchase of Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Parks Department
BACKGROUND
The 2019 CIP Major Equipment budget allocated $45,000 to replace a Parks Department pickup truck.
The new unit replaces a 2005 Ford F-250 that exceeded its useful service life and was taken out of service
last fall due to a bad motor. This memo is to report this vehicle purchase pursuant to the cooperative
purchase exception of our purchasing ordinance. The new vehicle is a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
4WD Double Cab.
ANALYSIS
Purchasing has verified that Ewald Automotive Group holds the State of Wisconsin Department of
Administration contract (#505ENT-M19-2019VEHICS-00) for this vehicle.
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this vehicle from Ewald's state contract is $27,972.00. The Mechanics Division will
be spending approximately $4,712.12 for additional equipment to complete this unit including a
supplemental fuel tank for fueling, mowing/snow removal equipment, seat covers, floor mats, city
radio/antenna and a hide away light system. The total fiscal impact for this vehicle is $32,684.12. This
purchase will be charged to A/N#: 03230610 7210 66909.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, cooperative
purchases pursuant to a contract with any other local, state or federal governmental unit or agency may
be made without following a competitive bidding or quotation process. In accordance with Section 12-
15 of the Municipal Code, I am hereby submitting a report of this purchase to the Common Council. If
