EVALUATION OF OVERALL RIDERSHIP SINCE THE FARE INCREASE Ridership for January and February 2019 has decreased from what it had been in January and February 2018. This January and February there were several days that school was cancelled due to snow or frigid temperatures which caused a decrease in ridership. We were expecting an initial decrease in ridership after the fare increase before ridership rises to previous levels however; more time will be needed to evaluate ridership trends. See attachment. STAFF STATEMENTS 3. VIDEO EQUIPMENT UPDATE We are in the process of updating the video equipment on six remaining buses in our fleet. 4. HEAVY DUTY BUS PROCUREMENT UPDATE The three new buses are scheduled for production in July or August. We will be viewing a video of how a bus is built. 5. SNOW REMOVAL POLICY Occasionally we receive questions about our snow removal policy. See attachment. 6. Sidewalks: As indicated in the Municipal Code, property owners are required to remove the snow and ice from the sidewalk, including curb ramp, located adjacent to their premises within twenty-four hours following cessation of a snowfall or other precipitation. Any customer concerns about sidewalks received by GO TRANSIT are forwarded to Public Works. Public Works enforces the Municipal Code regarding snow and ice removal from sidewalks. See City of Oshkosh Municipal Code Section 25-68 and 25-69. Bus Stop Signs: GO TRANSIT has roughly 230 bus stop signs in the City of Oshkosh. GO TRANSIT does not remove snow from all bus stops. When stop signs and adjacent terraces are obstructed by snow, GO TRANSIT bus drivers adjust the pick-up/drop-off point to the nearest safe location, such as a driveway or sidewalk. In most cases, this adjustment is within a bus length from the bus stop sign. Occasionally, customers will stand atop the snow bank near the sign while waiting for bus. Bus operators are trained to stop short of the passenger in these situations and motion them to walk back to the bus. The operator will then identify a more appropriate location for them to board in the future. Bus Shelters and Benches: GO TRANSIT shelters and benches are located on private and public property throughout the City. The private property locations are maintained by the property owner. However, in a few cases, GO TRANSIT maintenance staff provides snow removal assistance as needed. The public property locations are maintained by GO TRANSIT maintenance staff. Snow removal by GO TRANSIT at bus shelters and benches is primarily done by the service technician and operator mechanic positions. When GO TRANSIT's staff resources are limited, GO TRANSIT employs a contractor to remove snow from a list of shelters and benches. This list is maintained by the maintenance supervisor. Transit Center: Snow removal at GO TRANSIT's Transit Center (I 10 Pearl Street) is completed by GO TRANSIT maintenance staff. dnrinistraton & Maintenance Facility: Snow removal at GO TRANSIT's office and maintenance building grounds is completed by a combination of Transportation Department staff (Transit, Electric, and Sign Divisions). 3/2019 z O Y Q W w m N w W ❑ W 7 z W w w z O ❑ Y Nw LL m w W N❑_ LL w 7 z W W w a o 0 0 o a o a a 6v o v O m O m 0 O O M N M V O V r N N (O N r O O) N (O O N O m r Lp -;F N O O M N N N O m ul O N m w rn m rn r Lo co m d = 0 0 0 O Y 0 0 M m Ol Lf1 M M m N M y o r o v m r N m r co O m r ao O O ul (O L ori of d' E N 3 U U Ul U N N n n d 0 m O Q O y 'm F 0 cf w m 3 m K d [L' $ E 0 O U 0 0 0 0 0 0 o e N M (r0 Irf1 N N N (V I-: 0 N N V r M N v o M r m O) f N m 0 m f N M r N ai N m No N M M O M m O co ML m co N N N M M N V U a od. w LL a a> O U nos z O ❑ Y Q W m m U W U LU W N w W 2 O z O Y wN m U) w U w w W LU 2 F- 0 0 0 n S7 W S D W W > ❑ W m 3 H W j> N 2 0 m W m M a 0 T N i7 z w wLum 3 G d (n ❑ z O Q 3 ❑ Co W g X o Q a A M .1 S N W J Q N Oi m N r CL O w w ❑ J Q i d a 0 o a o 0 0o a 6v o v O m O m 0 O O M N M V O V r N N (O N r O O) (O M N r m O LO -;F N O O ri N ro ro .n EE N m w m m m d = 0 0 0 O Y 0 0 0 0 M r r O O N M cM N O m r N O N d V V O V cO N V O O O ul (O E N 3 U U Ul U N n n d 0 m O Q O y 'm F 0 cf w 0 0 n S7 W S D W W > ❑ W m 3 H W j> N 2 0 m W m M a 0 T N i7 z w wLum 3 G d (n ❑ z O Q 3 ❑ Co W g X o Q a A M .1 S N W J Q N Oi m N r CL O w w ❑ J Q i d a z a 0 o a o a o c N C) cop W m V N N m N M iOfl N l0 N (O m r M m r N fh N N N V v m r m o m m y r r rn w m N t1 a a m a a w O U :2 o G =1 5 0 0 0 0 0 o e .- N cl m coo ro m It [V W cp o] t0 N L(1 c r N V m N O V OD co r m co M co ro Oi r (V M N t0 N V v m r m O m T r ifl M m O N vt N aNi a (LOD Z O 0 Y w w m w W 0 w D Z W w Z O 0 Y w W w m w W D w 7 Z > W w Z O Y a LU w ED N W U w U w W x F- 0 O o a a o M CO N cq [1 m M ui d N o n co o r N C E Y L U a U a U O a a U N y n 0 O Q O Y x w m 0 0 0 0 p N OJ N M N t0 ro M ui 14 o M v F o o cn IU m co N co r (O co V w N E E 6 U U U) m U Y a U_ tp Y_ cc u C m r O m Y .poi K F CE C O K F"' Z O Y a LU w ED N W U w U w W x F- 0 O r N N :1 a A N A W Tq Z: U) w LU J Q e A N 00 '.l W 2 7 CO W W w a F- LU W a y Z ir m X o a ~ a o a a o M CO N cq [1 m M ui d N o n co o r N C E Y L U a U a U O a a U N y n 0 O Q O Y x w m 0 0 0 0 p N OJ N M N t0 ro M ui 14 o M v F o o cn IU m co N co r (O co V w N E E 6 U U U) m U Y a U_ tp Y_ cc u C m r N N :1 a A N A W Tq Z: U) w LU J Q e A N 00 '.l W 2 7 CO W W w a F- LU W a y Z ir m X o a ~ a
