RE: Cooperative Purchase of Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Street Division
BACKGROUND
The 2019 CIP Major Equipment allocated $35,000 to replace a Street Division's pickup truck. The new
unit replaces a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado with 163,756 miles that has exceeded its useful service life. This
memo is to report this vehicle purchase pursuant to the cooperative purchase exception of our
purchasing ordinance. The new vehicle is a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD Double Cab.
ANALYSIS
Purchasing has verified that Ewald Automotive Group holds the State of Wisconsin Department of
Administration contract (#505ENT-M19-2019VEHICS-00) for this vehicle.
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this vehicle from Ewald's state contract is $30,648.00. The Street Division will be
spending approximately $1,704.01 for additional equipment to complete this unit including a strobe
mount, seat covers, floor mats and a hide away light system. The total fiscal impact for this vehicle is
$32,352.01. This purchase will be charged to A/N#: 03230430 7204 66914.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, cooperative
purchases pursuant to a contract with any other local, state or federal governmental unit or agency may
be made without following a competitive bidding or quotation process. In accordance with Section 12-
15 of the Municipal Code, I am hereby submitting a report of this purchase to the Common Council. If
