AGENDA ITEMS
FEBRUARY 12, 2019
NEW BUSINESS
1. A REQUEST FOR NO PARKING ON EAST WAUKAU AVENUE, SOUTH SIDE,
FROM 160 FEET EAST TO 220 FEET EAST OF OLD ORCHARD LANE (CURRENT
CONDITION: NO PARKING RESTRICTION)
This request is from the Public Works Department. A sanitary pump station is located
just behind the curb on the south side of East Waukau Avenue near Old Orchard Lane.
With parking permitted here, operations and maintenance staff have difficulty
accessing the station to service and maintain it.
2. PRESENTATION ON THE EAST CENTRAL WISCONSIN REGIONAL CRASH
ANALYSIS APPLICATION BY MIKE ZUEGE, GIS COORDINATOR FROM EAST
CENTRAL WISCONSIN REGIONAL PLAN COMMISSION
Over the last couple of years a few mapping applications have been developed to help
identify crash trends. This is one of them. The state of Wisconsin has also developed a
mapping application which we will look at during a future meeting. These applications
use data from the Wisconsin Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory which compiles
data from local law enforcement crash reports. This is the data I use to manually
compile crash numbers for each intersection in the report I present to the Board each
year. In lieu of recreating these reports annually, I am looking at some of these tools to
report trends.
STAFF STATEMENTS
3. DIVISION STREET AND SCOTT AVENUE UPDATE
We have installed a black and yellow double arrowed sign at the end of Scott Street as a
follow-up from the December meeting. The Engineering Department has concerns with
installing a guard rail here as they are not designed to breakaway which may increase
liability to the city. Guardrails are designed to prevent cars from leaving the road on a
side impact. I have notified the residents. We will see if the sign resolves the issue and
then evaluate if other measures are necessary.
Please contact the Traffic Review Advisory Board at TRAB o0ci.oshkosh.wl.us with any questions orconcems.
