PURPOSE: APPROVE SPECIAL EVENT / NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON
MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI) / UTILIZE CITY STREETS FOR THE
OSHKOSH 5K FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND SUICIDE
AWARENESS EVENT HELD AT THE OSHKOSH NORTH HIGH
SCHOOL /MAY 4, 2019
INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that approval is granted to NAMI Oshkosh (Mary Janness) to utilize city streets
(W. Smith Avenue,Wisconsin Street,W. New York Avenue,Algoma Blvd.,Congress Ave.,
Elmwood Ave., Vinland Ave., W. Linwood Ave., and Ontario St.) Saturday, May 4, 2019,
from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., (actual event time is 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) for the Oshkosh
5K for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness, in accordance with the municipal code and
the attached application, with the following exceptions/conditions:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a condition of approval, the Event Organizer
shall pay the City's actual costs for extraordinary services.
Cost Estimates for Extraordinary Services
Police Department
Cones /No Parking Signs $16.50 (preliminary estimate includes dedicated use of cones
and NP Signs)
Staffing $659.82 (preliminary estimate includes 3 Supervisor hrs. @ $92.64/hr., 7 CSO hrs.
@ $15.59/hr. and 1 Officer hrs. @ $81.82/hr.)
Equipment/Vehicle $31.40 (preliminary estimate includes 4 hrs. dedicated use of police
vehicles)
