BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES -November 15,2018
PRESENT: Adam BellCorelli,Jim Michelson,Brad Brown,Jay Stengel, Lori Palmeri
ABSENT: Ben Rennert
STAFF: Associate Planner;Alexa Naudziunas
1. Call to Order
Mr. Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.
2. Approval of October 18,2018 Meeting Minutes

3. Westhaven Drive Petition -Action
Common Council received a petition from residents on October 911', 2018 regarding the
bike lanes and parking removal on Westhaven Drive. The bikes lanes were
implemented in summer of 2017. Common Council requested that Traffic and Parking
Advisory Board,Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, and the Sustainability Advisory
Board make recommendations on this topic. Traffic and Parking Advisory Board
recommended restoring parking to Westhaven between Noel Ct. and Springmill Drive
east side and narrowing the bike lanes to 4 feet. The road is 40 feet wide so this would
allow 2-4 foot bike lanes, 8 feet for parking on the east side and 2 12 foot travel lanes. If
the 5 foot bike lanes remained, parking could be added on the east side and have 11 foot
drive lanes. The committee member discussed this topic.
Mr. BellCorelli made a motion to recommend no change to the current street design on
Westhaven Drive and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
4. Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan Update
The committee reviewed the draft of the plan and provided comments and feedback.
Ms. Naudziunas explained that the last step in the update will be for the committee
review the final draft.
5. Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s)
The committee expressed an interest in continuing to review chapters from the Bike and
Pedestrian Master Plan.
6. Adjournment
