RE: Annual Audit Engagement — CliftonLarsonAllen (Schenck)
BACKGROUND
The City of Oshkosh has a history of engaging Schenck to provide audit services annually. Schenck has
audited the financial statements of the governmental activities, the business -type activities, the
aggregate discretely presented component unit, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund
information, including the related notes to the financial statements, which collectively comprise the
basic financial statements, of the City of Oshkosh, WI. Our 2018 Audit Engagement will be executed
with Schenck, who will merge with CliftonLarsonAllen on January 1, 2019.
ANALYSIS
With the city's transition to the Enterprise Resource Program accounting modules, it is important to
maintain consistency with an audit firm that is familiar with the city's current systems until the
transition is complete. As a result, staff believes it is appropriate to engage the services of Schenck for
the year ending December 31, 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT
The fee for these services will be at their standard hourly rate plus out-of-pocket costs (such as report
reproduction, typing, postage, travel, copies, telephone, etc.) except that they agree that their gross fee,
including expenses, will not exceed the following: The contract cost for the audit of all individual
funds of the City is $51,100.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of the Schenck auditing services.
