ZERO TURN RIDING TRACTOR MOWER FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT ($51,529.84) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a zero turn riding tractor for the Parks Department; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, the following is the only bid: REINDERS, INC. W227N6225 Sussex Road Sussex, WI 53089 Total Bid with Trade: $51,529.84 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. No. 0323-0610-7204-06809 Property/Equipment Fund - Machinery & Equipment TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon G. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: November 19, 2018 RE: Award Bid to Reinders Inc. for Zero Turn Riding Tractor for Parks Department ($51,529.84) BACKGROUND The 2018 CIP allocated $55,000 for a new zero turn riding tractor for the Parks Department. The new unit will come both turf and snow removal attachments and will replace three 2004 Toro commercial zero turn mowers which were used exclusively for turf management. This new unit will allow the Parks Department to improve efficiency in mowing, mulching and snow removal applications by consolidating seasonal equipment into one multi -seasonal unit. ANALYSIS Working with the Public Works Mechanics Manager, Purchasing prepared bid specifications for this unit. The bid was posted on Onvia DemandStar. Bids were due October 30, 2018. The bid tab is attached. It was consensus of staff that the sole bid received was competitive and met the minimum bid specifications. FISCAL IMPACT With trade-ins the total fiscal impact for this unit and attachments is $51,529.84. The 2018 CIP allocated $55,000 for this unit. This project will be charged to A/N# 0323-0610-7204-06809. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Reinders Inc. for $51,529.84. Respectfully Submitted, Z�$'L Jon G.
