ITEM II: GRANT STORM SEWER EASEMENTS AT 1600 OSHKOSH AVENUE (FORMER
Applicant/Owner: City of Oshkosh
Actions Requested:
The City of Oshkosh is requesting the granting of three storm sewer easements for Oshkosh
Corporation's Global Headquarters development.
Applicable Ordinance Provisions: N/A
Property Location and Background Information:
The subject site is the former Lakeshore Municipal Golf Course property. Oshkosh Corporation
purchased approximately 35 acres centrally located on the golf course property for development of
their Global Headquarters which is currently under construction.
ANALYSIS
This is a request for the granting of three storm sewer easements located on the former golf course
property, all of which are adjacent to Oshkosh Corporation's property. Oshkosh Corporations
property is completely surrounded by the former golf course except for an 80-foot wide connection to
N. Koeller Street. This isolation necessitates the three proposed easements to allow for conveyance of
storm water from Oshkosh Corporation's property through city -owned land.
Easement A is located at the northwest corner of Oshkosh Corporation's property. The proposed
easement is 30 feet wide by approximately 100 feet long, connecting Oshkosh Corporation to Lake
Butte des Morts. This will allow for the discharge of storm water to an outfall entering the lake.
Easement B is located along Oshkosh Corporation's westerly property line. The proposed 25-foot by
45-foot easement will allow Oshkosh Corporation's storm sewer outfall to connect to the city's water
quality storm water basin.
Easement C is located near the southeasterly corner of Oshkosh Corporations property. The proposed
20-foot wide, trapezoidal -shaped easement will allow Oshkosh Corporation to connect to the city's
system -park ponds equalization pipe system.
The City Attorney's Office is finalizing the easement documents which will be recorded at the
Winnebago County Register of Deeds once signed and approved by the Common Council.
RECOMMENDATION/CONDITIONS
Staff recommends approval of the granting of the three proposed storm sewer easements at 1600
Oshkosh Avenue as requested.
