HomeMy WebLinkAbout05. 18-516 OCTOBER 23, 2018 18-516 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 6-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO FRANKLIN EQUIPMENT FOR 6" AUTO PRIMING TOWABLE PUMP FOR STORMWATER DIVISION ($38,156.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a 6" auto priming towable pump for the Stormwater Division of the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS,upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: FRANKLIN EQUIPMENT 237 N. Washburn St Oshkosh, WI 54904 Total Bid: $38,156.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: September 17, 2018 RE: Award Bid to Franklin Equipment for 6" Auto Priming Towable Pump for Stormwater Division ($38,156.00) BACKGROUND The 2018 CIP allocated $47,000.00 for a 6" water pump for the Stormwater Division to include the suction hose, hose carrying stand, suction strainer, strobe light system and hose baskets. This unit is towed and is used in emergency flooding issues. The new unit will replace a 1968 Hercules water pump that has battery issues that are not repairable and make it undependable. The new pump will be self -priming and have a float system. The new pump will come with warranty and updated emissions. ANALYSIS Working with Street Division staff, Purchasing prepared bid specifications for these units. Bids were due August 8, 2018. The bid tab is attached. Based on the bid review, it was the consensus of City staff that the low bid with trade met the minimum bid requirements. FISCAL IMPACT The fiscal impact for this bid is $38,156.00. The Mechanics Division will install the suction hose carrying stand and strobe light for an additional cost of approximately $1,800.00, bringing the total fiscal impact of this unit to $39,956.00. The 2018 CIP allocated $47,000.00 for this unit. This purchase will be charged to A/N#: 0322-2010-7206-05823.
