Ms. Matzke requested that Mr. Larson present the monthly Director's Report.
Mr. Larson began by reporting that the Accreditation Committee of the American Alliance of
Museums met on June 28 to review all recent submissions and the reports and recommendations
from various on-site visits. Museum staff are awaiting the results of their vote, which should come
before the end of July. He noted that while all are eager to hear the decision, there are a few more
weeks to wait.
Next Mr. Larson reported that City Manager Rohloff is currently developing his preliminary
capital improvement recommendations to present to the Mayor and Common Council. Mr.Larson
noted that the Museum submitted several projects for 2019 and beyond and that last year the two-
year CIP plan included $450,000 for the next phase of the major effort to upgrade the Museum
structure with a new entrance and archives. However, it is unlikely this project will be funded in
2019.Without that funding, the entrance/archives project will be postponed. Mr. Larson noted that
the Museum's priority project is the assessment, repair, and mitigation of water issues associated
with the Sawyer and Steiger Wing foundations, which grows worse each year and must be
addressed. He was pleased to convey that Mr. Rohloff and Finance Director Trena Larson met with
him and decided to use the City's CIP contingency fund for the foundation assessment. That
contract is being drawn up and the assessment is anticipated to get underway in August.
In conclusion, Mr. Larson reported that the Carriage House is scheduled for a new roof (artificial
slate rather than real slate) in 2019. The Board may recall, the roof leaked during spring rains and
although repaired, it is a temporary solution. Additionally, the Museum will likely receive some
funding for the next phase of exhibition development. The Board will receive the preliminary 2019
CIP list as soon as it is available. That concluded the Director's Report.
Ms. Matzke presented the World War One Commemoration Committee Report.
She began with a review for Ms. Cartwright that the World War One Commemoration Committee
was formed in particular to commemorate Oshkosh's participation in that Great War,both at home
and abroad and that the committee is made up of Museum Board and staff, the City Mayor, and
representatives from the Experimental Aircraft Association(EAA)and the University of Wisconsin
-Oshkosh (UWO.) She reported that planning continues for the symposium to be held at UWO,
October 2-4;with an evening event at the Museum one of the evenings. The Standees, with images
and information about area residents of that time, continue to be moved around to varying
businesses in Oshkosh.Mr.Larson reported that about six area churches responded"yes'to Mayor
Cummings letter asking them to ring their church bells Sunday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. in
recognition of the 100f year anniversary of the end of World War One-Armistice (Veterans) Day

Ms. Matzke then requested that Ms. Wuest present the Auxiliary Report.
Auxiliary President Kathy Wuest began reporting that Pie on the Lawn was a huge success. The
Auxiliary sold 30 pies and four cases of water for a total revenue of $903.00. She noted that she
was in contact with Gala Chair Sis Martin and there is no firm date yet for the Gala as there are
various conflicting events. There is a possibility of it being on November 15th, with earlier hours of
5:00-7:00 p.m. The Gala Committee meets on July 19 and they plan to confirm a date and time at
the meeting. Ms. Wuest reported that the Auxiliary Board meeting on July 191h at 11:00 a.m. That
concluded the Auxiliary Report.
