Workshop Potential Land Use Amendment frotn Residential to Comrnercial or Mixed-Use in area at and adjaceid to .1232 W. Southpark Avenue The City was recently approached about the possibility of rezoning an existing single family home to allow professional office along W. South Park. The owner presently operates out of the home as a Home Occupation but would like to convert the property to professional offices. The property is presently zoned Single Family 5 (SR-5). The parcels immediately to the north and east are zoned Heavy Industrial (HI) and occupied by Oshkosh Plating. The properties to the west are single family homes zoned Single Family 5 (SR-5). The entire area carries a 20 year land use recommendation for residential. The City recently approved the South Park Corridor Plan which identifies this area as an appropriate place for transitional uses. The corridor plan includes professional office as acceptable transitional uses. The owner would like to discuss the potential comprehensive plan amendment of rezoning to allow professional offices.
