GO Transit Bus
Build
Korbin Figg
Korbin Figg showed pictures of our buses as they are being built
in Anniston, Alabama. He said the pictures were taken by our
mechanic who is there to oversee productions. Korbin told that
our maintenance supervisor will travel there next week to
conduct the final inspection. He also showed a short video on
how a bus is built.
There was discussion about a ribbon cutting ceremony and/or
parking one of the new buses somewhere such as the Transit
Center or Farmer’s Market for people to see.
School Update Korbin Figg
The school district is discussing a possible revenue agreement with the
city where students can ride Go Transit free. Korbin Figg told that a
school social worker said no one that needed assistance with
transportation isn’t assisted. He said it comes down to who has the
money to fund a program to provide free bus rides for all district
students.
Future
Agenda Items Jane Cryan
Jane Cryan said there are rumors that Walmart wants the bus out of their
parking lot. She would like the Walmart bus stop put on the TAB
meeting agenda.
Korbin Figg said the Walmart corporate management consulted an
engineer to determine a good location for a bus stop but the engineer
couldn’t find a spot for the bus to stop. Korbin said he would contact
Walmart again.
Jane also mentioned the 2 seat bench at the current Walmart stop was
not adequate.
