Informational Topics: • Board members and staff gave brief introduction of themselves. • Food Truck Friday will be held July 14, Del Rays will be the band playing,great function Board members have two committees to choose from, Governance and Health. Please see attached sheets. Please note that Nancy Casey should be on the Health Committee Discussion Items • Ron moved to accept change to by-laws that all appointed terms will be effective the following June. Bob K. seconded. All in favor, carried to accept change to by-laws that all appointed terms will be effective the following June. Vicki moved to nominate Bob K. as Chair for the Health Committee. Mary seconded. Carried, Bob K. will be chair for the Health Committee. The Health Committee meets quarterly at 7:30 am at the Seniors Center. Changes in the attachments include: in nominating details, adding last sentence to read, applicants must follow the selection process; second paragraph in Governance Committee change from chair plus three (3) to chair plus four (4);second sentence to change number to be four(4); Health Committee first sentence shall meet at least quarterly and will have at least four (4) Board members on the committee, change to read-shall meet at least quarterly and will have the chair plus at least four(4) Board members on the committee; the rest of the paragraph will read, Membership will include a staff member of OSC Manager's Choice. Should additional people be needed;, the chairperson may invite an undesignated number of Center participants or individuals from the community to become committee members; NOTE: should read, Encourage Board Members to volunteer on standing committees,AD Hoc committee and volunteer opportunities. (i.e....center programs or FOSC fund raisers) • Jane explained the health survey helps drive what programs should take place the next year. She named the first 9 choices; 1. Memory/Brain 2. Sleep 3. Vision 4. Arthritis 5. Pain management 6. Diabetes 7. Healthy Cooking 8. Hear Health and 9. Hip issues/replacement. She stated that there will a brain fitness fair for people to keep their brain strong September 201hthiswill be partnered with Valley VNA. There will be a Neuro Radiology Specialist. She is hoping to get a neurologist to attend. There will be a light lunch served at 11:30 am in the South Building. Looking for donations for food for lunch. She stated that Dr. Cler from Aurora did a presentation on knee replacement and that it was well attended. Consent Items • Approval of May 30, 2017 Minutes: Xandy explained that the hours for the COA meeting should be five hours rather than six. Wendy moved to accept the minutes with the change from six hours to five for the COA meeting. Mary seconded. All in favor, motion carried to change the COA meeting to five hours rather than six. Governance Report: August 14th next meeting Health Report: July 241h next meeting Committee on Aging Report:July 13,final Strategic Plan meeting form 10am -2pm Friends Report: • Sandy announced that the FOSC treasurer has stepped down and will be replaced by Julie Vanden Berg. FOSC Finance is looking for a couple of more members, preferably with finance or accounting backgrounds. • June 161h Food Truck Friday was greatly attended with approximately 1700 attendees. Beverage sales almost double with a decrease in raffle sales. July 14 will be the next event and will include the Del Ray's. Spread the word to friends and family. Additions may also include; Cold Stone Creamery, Arty and Ed's, Mr. and Mrs. Egg Roll, another Mexican Truck, another snack truck and Hot Dog Charlie's will be selling corn as well as hot dogs. 50/50 raffle is drawn every hour and must be present to win. Chairman's Report: Bob C. • Eat and Greet is held the last Thursday of the month at the South building. Evan does a good job. • Golden Tones will be opening up for the Kids from Wisconsin July 91h. The Golden Tones will have a concert at the Seniors Center on July 161h • Remember to log your hours for volunteering • Be a strong advocate for the Center, remember the three T's;Talent,Time and Treasure-become a Friend of the Oshkosh Seniors Center Presentation/Name Change: on Hold Manager's Report: see attached for Managers report. Bob K. questioned the future of Campbell Creek Room. Jean explained the hope is to expand the fitness area in there, divide the room and have half for educational purpose. A strobe light may need to be added when the room is split. Bob K. asked if there will be promotional event for monthly memberships. Jean explained that the fee structure is being reviewed. She stated the July newsletter has an article explaining the benefits of cardio and strength training. Longer hours are being discussed as well. Nancy moved to adjourn. Mary seconded.
