HomeMy WebLinkAbout3-15-18 MINUTES BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES-April 19,2018 PRESENT: Adam BellCorelli,Vicky Redlin,Jay Stengel,Jim Michelson, Caroline Panske, Ben Rennert STAFF: Assistant Planner;Alexa Naudziunas; Steve Gohde, Public Works Department 1. Call to Order Mr. Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. 2. Approval of February 15,2018 Meeting Minutes Ms. Panske moved to approve February 15, 2018 meeting minutes and Mr. Rennert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Staff Update Ms. Naudziunas informed the committee that Mr.Otto has resigned from serving on the committee and there is now a vacant position. 3. SPIN-Dockless Bike Share Service -Action Ms. Naudziunas explained that staff and other leaders in the community held a meeting to review the bike share company Spin which is working the university to bring bikes to campus. The city is reviewing the memorandum of understanding which the university and city may both sign. Ms. Redlin made a motion to support the bike share service pending city review of MOU, Mr. Rennert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The committee asked if the bicycles would be required to be registered per city ordinance. Ms. Naudziunas agreed to research this question. 4. Route Prioritization-action a. N. Main Street-Bike Lanes b. Smith Avenue-Bike lanes Mr. BellCorelli made a motion to support the proposed bikes lanes for N Main Street and Smith Avenue pending Traffic Review Advisory Board input and Ms. Redlin second the motion. Motion carried unanimously. c. 121h Avenue- Sharrow Sign only. d. Hazel Street- Sharrow-2019 Mr. BellCorelli made a motion to support the proposed signs on 12th Avenue and sharrows on Hazel Street and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 5. BikeOsh 2018-Discussion Ms. Naudziunas explained that the committee began planning for the BikeOsh event for 2018. The committee selected the date of May 5th for the event date. Ms. Naudziunas is requesting additional help from volunteers or committee members for this year's event. She said that the three Oshkosh North Communities students will help collect prizes. 6. Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest in keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan on the agenda. 7. Adjournment Mr. Rennert moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Panske seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously at 5:02 p.m. Recorded by Alexa Naudziunas, Assistant Planner
