Gohde, Assistant Director of Public Works!5 DATE: March 22, 2018 RE: Award Bid for Public Works Contract No. 18-06 / Concrete Sidewalk (New & Rehabilitation) Al Dix Concrete, Inc. / ($1,279,130) BACKGROUND The purpose of this project is to repair existing sidewalks, driveway aprons, and handicap ramps; install new sidewalks; and complete street or sidewalk repairs at Water Utility excavations. The approximate boundary of the neighborhoods for sidewalk repair is north of the Fox River, east of the Fox River, west of Mount Vernon Street, and south of West New York Avenue. Sidewalk will also be replaced at the Convention Center and street patching will occur on South Westfield Street, from West 51h Avenue to West 91h Avenue. ANALYSIS Engineering staff reviewed 2 bids. The low bid was received from Al Dix Concrete, Inc. of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. The total bid is $1,279,130. FISCAL IMPACT Funding for the sidewalk rehabilitation portion of the project is in the 2018 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Sidewalk Section and in the Water Utility Operating Budget. Funding for the sidewalk improvements at the Convention Center will be coming from the Oshkosh Convention Center Ceape Island Concrete Reconstruction project in the Property Improvements section of the 2018 CIP. Funding for the South Westfield Street street patches is available from previous projects coming under budget. Following is a summary of the available funds and the estimated total construction cost, including ancillary costs such as engineering fees, landfill tipping fees, construction materials testing fees, and other construction related expenses.
