HomeMy WebLinkAbout2-15-18 MINUTES BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES-February 15,2018 PRESENT: Adam BellCorelli,Vicky Redlin,Jay Stengel,Jim Michelson STAFF: Assistant Planner;Alexa Naudziunas; Steve Gohde, Public Works Department 1. Call to Order Mr. Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. 2. Approval of January 18,2018 Meeting Minutes Mr. Michelson moved to approve January 18, 2018 meeting minutes and Mr. BellCorelli seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Staff Update Ms. Naudziunas informed the committee that the decision has been made on the organization structure of board and committees. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will remain as it currently operates, no changes are to be made. Mr. Gohde updated the committee on the sidewalk projects recommendations for 2018. 4. Bike Facilities Recommendations 2018-Discussion or Action The committee reviewed the list of staff recommendations and existing routes map. This committee expressed an interest in extending bike lanes on N Main Street from Murdock Avenue to Snell Road. Additional routes of interest include Smith Avenue and Michigan Avenue. The committee will finalize the recommendations at the March meeting. 5. BikeOsh 2018-Discussion Ms. Naudziunas explained that the committee needs to begin planning for the BikeOsh event for 2018. The committee tentatively selected the date of May 5th for the event date. Ms. Naudziunas is requesting additional help from volunteers or committee members for this year's event. She said that it would be preferred if someone else was responsible for soliciting and collecting prizes. The committee decided to contact the Oshkosh Cycle Club to see if they can offer any help. It will be hard to have the event this year without additional support. 6. Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan update-East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission Ms. Naudziunas explained that staff at East Central Regional Planning Commission is working on the plan and the content will be review by the committee at the March meeting. 7. Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest in keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan on the agenda. 8. Adjournment Mr. BellCorelli moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously at 5:15 p.m. Recorded by Alexa Naudziunas, Assistant Planner
