RE: Repeal Ordinance Pertaining to Prohibited Areas for Animals
BACKGROUND
The City of Oshkosh Municipal Code contained two separate provisions pertaining to bringing
or permitting animals to be within City parks, one contained in Chapter 6 which generally
covers animals and one contained in Chapter 19 which generally covers parks. Chapter 19 was
updated after review and input from the Parks Advisory Board. As a result, the provisions in
Chapter 6 have become inconsistent and outdated. Staff is proposing to delete the provisions in
Chapter 6 so that all park provisions are located in one place within the code, Chapter 19.
ANAT.YSTS
The proposed ordinance repeals provisions pertaining to bringing or permitting animals within
City parks which are inconsistent with updated provisions contained in Chapter 19 of the
Municipal Code.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the proposed ordinance.
