RE: Modify Parking Restrictions on 11th Avenue
BACKGROUND
This ordinance modifies parking restrictions on 11th Avenue. It removes parking at the northwest and
southwest corners of South Main Street and 11th Avenue. This request comes from Transportation
Department. The Traffic Review Advisory Board recommends approval (5-0).
ANALYSTS
With the new traffic signals and road alignment at this intersection any parked vehicles are in the
traffic lanes and affect the traffic signal operation therefore parking needs to be removed in this area.
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this ordinance is the cost of signage. The signage cost would come out of the
Sign Department operational budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 27A-11 of the Municipal Code pertains to parking regulations on designated streets and
alleys. I recommend that the Common Council approve this ordinance.

Jim Collins
