HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-18-17 MINUTESBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES –December 18,2017 PRESENT:Caroline Panske,Tom Otto,Jim Michelson, Ben Rennert, Adam BellCorelli STAFF:Assistant Planner;Alexa Naudziunas,East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission,Kim Biedermann 1.Call to Order Mr.Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2.Approval of November 16,2017 Meeting Minutes Mr.Rennert moved to approve November 16, 2017 meeting minutes and Mr.BellCorelli seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3.Bicycle Federation Certification –UWO/Sustainability Advisory Committee Ms. Naudziunas explained that students have completed their research project regarding the potential for the City of Oshkosh to become a bike friendly community through the Bicycle Federation Certification.Mr. Rennert made a motion to pursue the application and Mr. Otto seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 4.Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan update –East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission a.Cover Review Ms. Naudziunas explained that she has worked on the graphic cover for the new plan and she has updated the name of the plan. She would like input from the committee on the changes. The committee agreed to change the name of the plan from Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan to Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. The committee provided further guidance on the visual appearance of the cover and Ms. Naudziunas made the changes.Ms. Naudziunas agreed to find a few other photo options for the cover. b.Review Recommendations Kim Biedermann was present from East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission to help facilitate the plan update.Kim Biedermann read through a series of goals and objectives. The list was based on feedback from the previous meeting in which committee member selected goals and objectives that they felt were the most important to on focus for the updated plan. c.Mapping Exercise Kim Biedermann explained that staff created an interactive map which allows certain features to be turned on or off. The committee reviewed the maps and provided feedback for staff. 5.Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest in keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan on the agenda. 6.Adjournment Mr. Rennert moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr. Otto seconded the motion.
