HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-16-17 MINUTESBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES – November 16, 2017 PRESENT: Caroline Panske, Tom Otto, Jim Michelson, Jay Stengel, Vicky Redlin, Ben Rennert, Adam BellCorelli STAFF: Assistant Planner; Alexa Naudziunas, Melissa Kraemer-Badtke Call to Order Mr. Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. Approval of October 19, 2017 Meeting Minutes Mr. Stengel moved to approve August 17, 2017 meeting minutes and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Bicycle Federation Certification – UWO/Sustainability Advisory Committee Students were present to discuss their project with committee members regarding researching the potential for the City of Oshkosh to become a bike friendly community through the Bicycle Federation Certification. They explained that they have been gathering the research needed to apply to become a bike friendly community. They will be presenting their project at the Sustainability Advisory Committee meeting on December 4th. Bike and Ped Plan – Cover and Name review Ms. Naudziunas explained that she has worked on the graphic cover for the new plan and she has updated the name of the plan. She would like input from the committee on the two changes. The committee agreed to change the name of the plan from Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan to Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. The committee provided further guidance on the visual appearance of the cover and Ms. Naudziunas agreed to make the changes to be review at the next meeting. Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan update – East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission Melissa Kraemer-Badtke was present from East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission to help facilitate the plan update. Ms. Kraemer-Badtke read through a series of goals and objectives and asked that the committee member select the ones that they felt were the most important to on focus for the updated plan. The committee discussed mapping and made plans for the next meeting to work on a mapping exercise. Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest in keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan on the agenda. Adjournment Ms. Redline moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Panske seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously at 5:17 p.m. Recorded by Alexa Naudziunas, Assistant Planner
