HomeMy WebLinkAboutPUC Meeting Minutes 11 8 17Parking Utility Commission Date: 11/8/17 Location: City Hall 1 Location: City Hall 1 Attendees: Absent: Jim Collins – Director Mary Murken – Chairperson Chanda Anderson - Vice-Chair Marlene Binder - Secretary Jay Ratchman - Board James Stapel - Board Lori Palmeri – Council Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Meeting Started Meeting Minutes Mary Murken The PUC meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. Accept July 12, 2017 meeting minutes 1st: Lori Palmeri 2nd: Jay Ratchman Accept Financial Reports Mary Murken Accept June - September 2017 Financial Reports 1st: Lori Palmeri 2nd: Jay Ratchman Potential merger of PUC with TRAB Jim Collins Jim said the survey result showed support for a merger of the PUC with the TRAB. He explained that this merger is pending council approval. He said he needs to determine if anyone on this Board is interested and available to serve on the TRAB. 1sat: Lori Palmeri 2nd: Jay Ratchman Carried 3 - 0 Discussion about non- citizens serving on city Boards Jim Collins Mary Murken Lori Palmeri Jim welcomed input regarding non-citizens serving on city Boards. Mary Murken said non-citizens could own businesses in the city and therefore want to be involved making decisions that could impact their business. Lori Palmeri suggested limiting the number of non-residents to a certain percentage so that the majority of Board members are residents of the city. Parking Utility Commission Date: 11/8/17 Location: City Hall 2 Location: City Hall 2 Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Parking Lot Signage Update Jim Collins Jay Ratchman Lori Palmeri Jim Collins told the Board that the locates for the sign posts were finished and most of those posts were in. He went on to say that some of the posts need to be drilled into the concrete and these would need to be coordinated with the Street Department. He said that most signs would be installed by the end of the year. He said the signs are up 7 feet so pedestrians can walk underneath. Jay Ratchman suggested directing out of town shoppers to parking in the back of the store. Lori Palmeri’s suggestion was to register the parking areas in GPS apps such as Google Maps. 2018 Budget and BID contribution Jim Collins Jim Collins said the BID has agreed to contribute $15,000 toward the PUC in 2018 out of their reserve funds.
