HomeMy WebLinkAboutED report 11-27-17Executive Director’s Report Update on Oshkosh Arena property: Street improvements are ready for the first game on December 1, 2017.There are street light and signal installations still needed and are running behind due to the hurricanes earlier this year.Upon completion of the project, staff will be working with the developer and contractor to submit an application for the Certificate of Completion in order to obtain the Voluntary Party Liability Exemption from the WisDNR. WisDNR review and approval could take a year before the RDA can transfer the title of the property to Fox Valley Pro Basketball. Update on Healthy Neighborhood Initiative: Staff continues to search for additional rehabilitation projects.Staff has been in contact with the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and several organizations are exploring a possible “Rock the Block” project in Oshkosh in 2018.Another project(s)in conjunction with this project could fit well. Update in South Shore Redevelopment Area: Miles Kimball Building –Will Steiner has reported to City staff that he is purchasing the property from Brian Burns and will be closing in January. He also plans to revise the site and building plans since he is looking at a commercial/office building rather than commercial/residential rehabilitation project.He would like to start construction as soon as possible. Morgan District –The contractor has made good progress on shoreline stabilization, rip rap, and underground preparation. Concrete will not be poured until 2018. Staff is looking for a new location to store the second 1899 Railroad Bridge portal currently stored at the Boatworks site. The second portal is planned to be erected near the Pioneer Drive railroad crossing. Pioneer Area –Mr. Art Dumke continues to work with City staff to explore multiple development options and funding scenarios. The Granary –Both the office space and restaurant are now open. The RDA parcel has been rebuilt as a parking lot to serve the establishments. South Main Street parcels –Staff has proposed remediation funding in the proposed 2018-2022 Capital Improvement Program. The CIP is scheduled for action at the City Council’s November 28, 2017 meeting. Update on Marion & Pearl Redevelopment Area: Jackson/Marion Parcel:Mr. Andy Dumke continues to develop more specific building and site plans. He is also working on tenant occupancy and a financing plan.His option expires on September 20, 2018. Jackson/Pearl Parcel:Mr. Jeff Fullbright continues to work on the brewery project. His option expires at the end of 2017.
