prohibit fishing along the Fox River Riverwalk, Jeld Wen section,
1.Consider request to
west of Oregon Street
The Board will consider a request from the Morgan Partners Development group to prohibit
fishing along the south side of the Riverwalk on the former Jeld Wen site from the Oregon
Street Bridge to the pedestrian bridge at the Boatworks site. The city recently awarded the
contract for construction of this phase of the Riverwalk. The current city ordinance prohibits
fishing on the Riverwalk section on the north side from the Main Street Bridge to the Oregon
Street Bridge, in the area of City Centre. A map is included in your packet.
Accept parkland dedication for development on property located in Jackson Street
2.
Bristol Square Subdivision
City staff has been working with a developer requesting approval of a 17 lot land division in
and subject site maps are included in your packet. The Plan Commission has recommended
approval of the development.
As part of any development process, City ordinance requires developers to either dedicate
parkland based on the residential units created by the subdivision or pay the city a fee in
lieu of parkland dedication. In reviewing the subdivision request, city staff references the
Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) to confirm if the development area is
currently serviced by a public park or if the area is deficient in parkland. The proposed
development is in an area that the CORP identifies the need for future parkland (see map
included from CORP).
City staff recommends acceptance of the approximate 3.2 acres of parkland.
3.Review Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan(CORP) survey results
Included in your packet is a summary of the results from the recently completed CORP survey.
There were 641 responses received for the survey which is a fairly good response. The survey is
another tool for us to receive public input for what they feel is going well in the parks and what
should be considered for improvement. We have also provided a summary of general
comments received for you as well. We will discuss the results at the meeting.
If you have any questions prior to the meeting or if you will not be able to attend, please contact
Stacy James, Administrative Assistant, at 236-5080. Thank you in advance.
