A meeting of the Public Arts and Beautification Committee will be held on Thursday
September 28, 2017 at 3 p.m. in room 404, City Hall, 215 Church Avenue, Oshkosh, WI 54901.

PUBLIC ARTS AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
Minutes
August 24, 2017
PRESENT:Leif Larson;Shirley Brabender-Mattox; Vicky Redlin, Koby Schellenger, Alex Schultz
STAFF:Alexa Naudziunas, Assistant Planner; Bill Sturm, Parks Department
1.Call to Order
Mr. Larson called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m.
2.Approval of July 27th 2017 Meeting Minutes
Mr. Schellenger made a motion to approve the July 27th 2017 meeting minutes and Ms. Redlin
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
3.Sculpture Valley –Guest Alex Schultz
Guest Alex Schultz, Sculpture Valley, gave an overview of his organization which is based out of
Appleton Wisconsin.Sculpture Valley is an organization that has worked to create sculpture
displays in Appleton called Acre of Art.Sculpture Valley’s vision for Acre of Art is to host 24
sponsored sculptures annually throughout Appleton’s Downtown and Riverfront Districts.
Sculpture Valley successfully secured 9 sculptural works for our premiere July 2017-July 2019
season. We intend to target 15 for next year's 2018-2020 exhibition competition to reach our goal.
4.Committee Plan Development –Discussion
a.Review Materials
Ms. Naudziunas explained that at the June and July meeting the committee began identifying
items that they would like to appear in the Public Art and Beautification Plan. Ms. Naudziunas
presented the draft outline for the plan in July.The plan is drafted to include four sections:
introduction, background, vision and administration.The committee agreed to continue
working on the plan at all future meetings.Ms. Naudziunas the public art inventory and map.
Committee members helped identified other locations with public art.
5.Imagine Oshkosh -A Master Plan for Our Center City –Presentation September 6th
Ms. Naudziunas explained that all committee members are encouraged to attend the presentation
on September 6th at the Convention Center.
6.Future Agenda Items
Ms. Naudziunas agreed to keep the plan development discussion for the next meeting agenda.Ms.
Naudziunas explained that any additional agenda items can be added to the list if she is contacted.
7.Adjournment
Ms.Redlin made a motion to adjourn and Mr.Larson seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously at 4:17 p.m.
