HomeMy WebLinkAbout30. 2017 Annual Audit Contract - SchenckIM $ 4 RAN 4, Oshkosh TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Trena Larson Director of Transportation DATE: September 5, 2017 RE: Annual Audit Engagement BACKGROUND The City of Oshkosh has a long history of engaging Schenck to provide audit services annually. Schenck will audit the financial statements of the governmental activities, the business -type activities, the aggregate discretely presented component unit, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information, including the related notes to the financial statements, which collectively comprise the basic financial statements, of the City of Oshkosh, WI. ANALYSIS With the city's transition to the new Enterprise Resource Program accounting modules, I believe it is important to maintain some consistency with an audit firm that is familiar with our current system until the transition is complete. As a result, staff believes it is appropriate to engage the services of Schenck for the year ending December 31, 2017 FISCAL IMPACT The fee for these services will be at their standard hourly rate plus out-of-pocket costs (such as report reproduction, typing, postage, travel, copies, telephone, etc.) except that they agree that their gross fee, including expenses, will not exceed the following: Audit of all individual funds of the City $48,900. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends adoption of Schenck auditing services. Respectfully Submitted, la Trena Larson Finance Director Approved: Mark A. Rohloff City Manager 1
