RE: Modify Parking Restrictions on South Park Avenue
BACKGROUND
This ordinance modifies parking restrictions on South Park Avenue. It changes the parking
from unrestricted to no parking, stopping, standing or waiting, both sides, from Main Street
east to its terminus. This request comes from the Transportation/Planning/Engineering
Departments. The Traffic Review Advisory Board amended the original request for no
parking to also include no stopping, standing, or waiting. The Traffic Review Advisory Board
recommends approval of the amended request. (6-0)
ANALYSIS
The no parking, stopping, standing, waiting restriction in this area will improve safety and
ensure South Park Avenue will be clear for ingress and egress to the new Bucks D -League
Arena.
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this ordinance is the cost of signage. The signage cost would come out of
the Sign Department operational budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 27A-11 of the Municipal Code pertains to parking regulations on designated streets
and alleys. I recommend that the Common Council approve this ordinance.
