PURPOSE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO ENGINEERING SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH AECOM TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC. FOR
CONSTRUCTION MONITORING AND DOCUMENTATION
SERVICES FOR MARION ROAD WATER TOWER REPLACEMENT
($30,687.50)
INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the City and AECOM previously entered into a professional services
agreement in which AECOM would provide the City with services for construction
monitoring and documentation for Marion Road Water Tower replacement and
WHEREAS, additional services requested included review and comments on project
submittals;additional time for foundations, soil and groundwater management,and utility
installation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the proper City officials are authorized and directed pursuant to Section 12-16
of the Municipal Code to enter into an amended agreement with AECOM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an amendment to the agreement with AECOM is
approved and said City officials are authorized and directed to take those steps necessary
to implement the terms and conditions of the final agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that money for this purpose is hereby appropriated
from:

RE: Approve Amendment to Engineering Services Agreement for Construction Monitoring and
Documentation Services for Marion Road Water Tower Replacement / AECOM Technical
Services, Inc. (AECOM) ($30,687.50)
BACKGROUND
A professional services agreement for environmental and engineering services for construction
monitoring and documentation services for the Marion Road Water Tower replacement was approved
by the Common Council on September 13, 2016. During the course of this project, additional
engineering -related services were requested by City staff.
ANALYSIS
The additional services requested included increased review and comments on project submittals; and
additional time for foundations, soil and groundwater management, and utility installation.
FISCAL IMPACT
The proposed cost of this amendment is not to exceed $30,687.50. This will raise the total agreement
amount to $110,277.50. Funding is available in the Water Utility portion of the Property Improvements
section of the 2017 Capital Improvements Program.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code of the City of Oshkosh provides that professional services of a specialized
nature, including engineering services, may be procured without the use of formal, sealed quotes. I have
reviewed the amendment and in accordance with Section 12-16 of the Code, I am hereby recommending
that the Common Council approve this amendment.
