Jim Colllins
Jim said the one hour and angle parking on the south side of 11th
Avenue is left from when Buckstaff was in operation. He is
recommending removing the parking as this street will be used for
ingress and egress of the new arena lot. He along with Community
Development met with Kalmerton Welding. They are ok with this
and would like to retain the loading zone in case they need their
garage door for deliveries.
Dan Becker inquired about the effective date these parking restrictions
go into effect.
Jim Collins replied that if this would pass tonight, it would go before
Council two times before it could be approved and would not go into
effect until properly signed.

Jim Collins said with Alro on one side of 10th Ave. and Sadoff on the
other side, there are trucks that use this street on a re gular basis. Alro
receives and loads trucks 24 hours a day. There are not any sidewalks
on most of this street.
Judy William, Alro general manager, said parked cars and pedestrians
may be an issue with the semis navigating through the area.

Jim Collins said a vehicle with a boat trailer would be too close to
either the intersection or the first driveway to park here.
LuAnn, of Garden to Doorstep, said when a vehicle is parked here the

Dan Becker
Jim said this is a request a citizen made to Dan Becker, He explained
that this intersection did not meet the warrants for a stop sign; traffic
volume is low, line of sight is pretty clear, and only one crash in five
years.
Paul Ellefeson, of 3011 Sawyer Creek Dr., said the blue house on the
corner makes it hard to see. He said when college kids come home,
they are not used to this intersection.
David Brand, of 3050 Sawyer Creek Dr., said the road curves in and
then around. He explained in winter snow is dumped by the flagpole.
Jeff Schuttey, of 3031 Sawyer Creek Dr., said the speed vehicles are
traveling is much faster than in the past and they are cutting into the
other lane when rounding the bend in the street. He added there is no
street light at this intersection. He inquired when the last traffic study
was done here. Jim replied this month. He agreed this was an unusual
intersection.
Jim Collins explained that there is something in the 5 year capital
improvement plan for traffic calming in this area.
Jake Krause said safety is the top concern. He went on to say this must
be a problem intersection to be in the capital improvement plan and a
stop sign would be much less expensive than to install an island here.
Dan Becker inquired about a center line on this stretch of road.
