HomeMy WebLinkAbout37. 17-333 JUNE 27, 2017 17-333 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 6-1P LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL EQUIPMENT FROM TAPCO FOR ELECTRIC DIVISION FOR SAWDUST DISTRICT ($77,684.80) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase traffic signal equipment for streets adjacent/connected to the Oshkosh Arena Project; and WHEREAS, TAPCO is the City's standardized supplier for all traffic signal equipment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed pursuant to Section 12-11 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code to purchase traffic signal equipment for the streets adjacent/connected to the Oshkosh Arena Project from: TAPCO 5100 West Brown Deer Road Brown Deer, WI 53223 Total: $77,684.80 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: June 20, 2017 RE: Approve Purchase of Traffic Signal Equipment to TAPCO for Electric Division ($77,684.80) BACKGROUND This memo is to purchase the necessary traffic signal equipment for streets adjacent/connected to the Oshkosh Arena project. Funding for this purchase is included within the updated TIF 31 budget for this project. The Electric Division will install the equipment as part of the project. ANALYSIS As TAPCO is the City's standardized supplier for all traffic signal equipment, City staff secured a proposal from them for the necessary equipment for this project. FISCAL IMPACT The cost for the TAPCO traffic signal equipment for this project is $77,684.80. This cost will be charged to A/N#: 323-0801-6542-06751. RECOMMENDATION Section 12-11 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, purchases may be made without following a formal competitive bidding process when the purchase is from only one source of supply or when standardization or compatibility is the overriding consideration. In accordance with Section 12-11 of the Municipal Code and with approval by the City Manager, Purchasing recommends the Common Council approve this purchase from TAPCO, 5100 West Brown Deer Road, Brown Dear, WI 53223, in the amount of $77,684.80.
