RE: Ordinance 17-325
BACKGROUND
This ordinance modifies parking restrictions on Mill Street. It removes parking on the east
side from Bay Shore Drive to 35' south and leaves parallel parking on the east side for vehicles
with boat trailer from 35' to 184' south of Bay shore Drive from April to November 1.
ANALYSIS
There is not enough space for a vehicle with a boat trailer to legally park on Mill Street
between the corner of Bay Shore Drive and the assisted living driveway to the south; it would
either be too close to the intersection and sidewalk or the driveway. Additionally, when a
vehicle with a boat trailer is parked here, the semi that delivers to Garden to Doorstep cannot
get to their dock. The Traffic Review Advisory Board recommends approval. (5-0)
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this ordinance is the cost of removing and then reinstalling signage. The
cost would come out of the Sign Department operational budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 27A-11 of the Municipal Code pertains to parking regulations on designated streets
and alleys. I recommend that the Common Council approve this ordinance.
