MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of th/Con Council
FROM: James Rabe, Director of Public Works
DATE: June 8, 2017
RE: Amend 2017 Capital Improvement Program — Field Operation Facility Landscaping
BACKGROUND
At the July 26, 2016 meeting, the Common Council awarded the bid for Public Works Contract 16-26 to
Highway Landscapers, Inc. for Landscaping — Biofilters for the Public Works Field Operations Facility. The
bid award included only some of the potential alternatives bid with the project in order to stay within
available budget.
ANALYSIS
In order to fully comply with the Zoning Code requirements for landscaping, the Field Operations Facility
still has more landscaping to install. Future Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budgets will include a
request to install the remaining code -required landscaping materials.
This CIP amendment will move $15,000 from the Major Equipment Replacement section of the CIP to the
Property Improvements section of the CIP from the two (2) tandem -axle dump trucks for Streets Division
that came in under budget
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this resolution will shift approved budgetary funds from one section of the CIP to
another.
RECOMMENDATIONS
I recommend approval of the 2017 Capital Improvement Program amendment.
Approved,
Mark A. Rohloff
City Manager
