HomeMy WebLinkAbout25. 17-293 JUNE 13, 2017 17-293 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AMEND 2017 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM — FIELD OPERATION FACILITY LANDSCAPING ($15,000.00) INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION WHEREAS, the City Manager has prepared, submitted and recommended a Capital Improvement Program for the year 2017, wherein is listed all anticipated revenue and expenditures for said year, which program has been filed with the Common Council and the City Clerk, and is available for public inspection; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the 2017 Capital Improvement Program to add additional funding for the Field Operation Facility Landscaping to fully comply with the Zoning Code requirements; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the Major Equipment Replacement section of the CIP from the purchase of two (2) tandem-axle dump trucks for the Streets Division that came in under budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the 2017 Capital Improvement Program, on file in the Office of the City Clrk, is hereby approved with adjustments as listed in attached Exhibit "2". r,A City of Oshkosh MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of th/Con Council FROM: James Rabe, Director of Public Works DATE: June 8, 2017 RE: Amend 2017 Capital Improvement Program — Field Operation Facility Landscaping BACKGROUND At the July 26, 2016 meeting, the Common Council awarded the bid for Public Works Contract 16-26 to Highway Landscapers, Inc. for Landscaping — Biofilters for the Public Works Field Operations Facility. The bid award included only some of the potential alternatives bid with the project in order to stay within available budget. ANALYSIS In order to fully comply with the Zoning Code requirements for landscaping, the Field Operations Facility still has more landscaping to install. Future Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budgets will include a request to install the remaining code -required landscaping materials. This CIP amendment will move $15,000 from the Major Equipment Replacement section of the CIP to the Property Improvements section of the CIP from the two (2) tandem -axle dump trucks for Streets Division that came in under budget FISCAL IMPACT The fiscal impact of this resolution will shift approved budgetary funds from one section of the CIP to another. RECOMMENDATIONS I recommend approval of the 2017 Capital Improvement Program amendment. Approved, Mark A.
