RE: Ordinance 17-269 Modify parking regulations on W. 17th Avenue.
BACKGROUND
A resident in the area would like to utilize the parking space in front of his house to park his
or guest's vehicles for longer than 2 hours. This change would allow enough space for the
resident to park a vehicle in front of his residence.
The Traffic Review Advisory Board voted unanimously to approve this modification (4-0).
ANALYSIS
This area was changed from 15 minute to 2 hour parking in 2008 when the business in the
adjacent building changed from a pizza delivery to a beauty salon. This building is currently
vacant. There will still be 36 feet adjacent to the vacant building with 2 hour parking which
allows enough space for two average sized vehicles to park. There is also parking available
on Oregon Street in front of the business.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of modifying the signage would come out of the sign/street painting operating
budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 27A-11 of the Municipal Code regulates on street parking. I recommend approval.
If you have any further questions on this proposal please contact Transportation Director Jim
Collins, or myself.
