1. Call to Order
Mr. Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. Bridgett Hammen, from the
organization Covey, attended the meeting to share information about their programs.
Covey provides resources that empower people with disabilities and their families.
Through short-term care, social events, and skill-building programs, Covey helps youth
and adults move toward greater independence. They also provide the relief and ongoing
support that caregivers need. The bike programs sponsored by Covey help our
participants reveal amazing talents and ability. Together, Adaptive Bike Lending and
iCan Shine Bike Camp offer people of varying abilities the chance to ride a bike. It’s a
crucial first step toward building friendships, creating a sense of independence, and
connecting with the community.
